PERTURBED PERIODIC SOLUTIONFOR BOUSSINESQ EQUATION

We consider the solution of the good Boussinesq equation Utt -Uxx ＋ Uxxxx = （U2）xx, -∞ 〈 x 〈 ∞, t ≥ 0, with periodic initial value U（x, 0） = ε（μ ＋ φ（x））, Ut（x, 0） = εψ（x）, -∞ 〈 x 〈 ∞, where μ = 0, φ（x） and ψ（x） are 2π-periodic functions with 0-average value in [0, 2π], and ε is small. A two parameter Bcklund transformation is found and provide infinite conservation laws for the good Boussinesq equation. The periodic solution is then shown to be uniformly bounded for all small ε, and the H1-norm is uniformly bounded and thus guarantees the global existence. In the case when the initial data is in the simplest form φ（x） = μ＋a sin kx, ψ（x） = b cos kx, an approximation to the solution containing two terms is constructed via the method of multiple scales. By using the energy method, we show that for any given number T 〉 0, the difference between the true solution u（x, t; ε） and the N-th partial sum of the asymptotic series is bounded by εN＋1 multiplied by a constant depending on T and N, for all -∞ 〈 x 〈 ∞, 0 ≤ ｜ε｜t ≤ T and 0 ≤ ｜ε｜≤ε0.

持续生存概念是种群生态系统稳定性的一个重要描述,而研究竞争种群共存的问题是种群生态学的一个重要问题.进一步考虑具有离散时滞的非自治的两种群竞争扩散摸型,使模型更符合其生态意义,通过微分不等式获得了其一致持续生存的充分条件.     

Convergence Properties of Generalized Fourier Series on a Parallel Hexagon Domain

A new Rogosinski-type kernel function is constructed using kernel function of partial sums Sn（f; t） of generalized Fourier series on a parallel hexagon domain Ω associating with threedirection partition. We prove that an operator Wn（f; t） with the new kernel function converges uniformly to any continuous function f（t） ∈ Cn（Ω） （the space of all continuous functions with period Ω） on Ω. Moreover, the convergence order of the operator is presented for the smooth approached function.     

A fitted numerical method for parabolic turning point singularly perturbed problems with an interior layer

The objective of this paper is to construct and analyze a fitted operator finite difference method (FOFDM) for the family of time‐dependent singularly perturbed parabolic convection–diffusion problems. The solution to the problems we consider exhibits an interior layer due to the presence of a turning point. We first establish sharp bounds on the solution and its derivatives. Then, we discretize the time variable using the classical Euler method. This results in a system of singularly perturbed interior layer two‐point boundary value problems. We propose a FOFDM to solve the system above. Through a rigorous error analysis, we show that the scheme is uniformly convergent of order one with respect to both time and space variables. Moreover, we apply Richardson extrapolation to enhance the accuracy and the order of convergence of the proposed scheme. Numerical investigations are carried out to demonstrate the efficacy and robustness of the scheme.

研究了n维球内均匀分布的参数的点估计与区间估计,利用次序统计量得到了球半径的最大似然估计,在此基础上构造了球半径的无偏估计,并且证明了该无偏估计的相合性.利用构造枢轴量的方法得到了球半径的最短置信区间.     

UNIFORM BOUNDEDNESS AND STABILITY OF SOLUTIONS TO A CUBIC PREDATOR-PREY SYSTEM WITH CROSS-DIFFUSION

Using the energy estimate and Gagliardo-Nirenberg-type inequalities,the existence and uniform boundedness of the global solutions to a strongly coupled reaction-diffusion system are proved. This system is a generalization of the two-species Lotka-Volterra predator-prey model with self and cross-diffusion. Suffcient condition for the global asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium point of the model is given by constructing Lyapunov function.     

Jackson type theorems on complex curves

Let Γ be a closed smooth Jordan curve in the complex plane. In this paper, with the help of a class of fundamental functions of Hermite interpolation, the author introduces a continuous function interpolation which uniformly approximates to f(z) ε C(Γ) with the same order of approximation as that in Jackson Theorem 1 on real interval [−1, 1]. The accuracy of the order of approximation is proved. Using the method different from the early works, the author studies simultaneous approximation to function and its derivatives and the desired results analogues to that in Jackson Theorem 2 on real interval [−1, 1] are obtained.

Microscopic calculation of the magnetic field of neutron stars

Based on the Dirac equation describing an electron moving in a uniform and cylindrically symmetric magnetic field which may be the result of the self-consistent mean field of the electrons themselves in a neutron star, we have obtained the eigen solutions and the orbital magnetic moments of electrons in which each eigen orbital can be calculated. From the eigen energy spectrum we find that the lowest energy level is the highly degenerate orbitals with the quantum numbers pZ=0, n=0, and m≥0. At the ground state, the electrons fill the lowest eigen states to form many Landau magnetic cells and each cell is a circular disk with the radius λfree and the thickness λe, where λfree is the electron mean free path determined by Coulomb cross section and electron density and λe is the electron Compton wavelength. The magnetic moment of each cell and the number of cells in the neutron star are calculated, from which the total magnetic moment and magnetic field of the neutron star can be calculated. The results are compared with the observational data and the agreement is reasonable.
